There are three ways to get a Skilled card.

A skilled card will be issued to applicants who have achieved NVQ/SVQ 2 or 3 (Level 2 – Blue Card, Level 3 – Gold Card). Evidence of competence and health and safety awareness is deemed to be inclusive in the achievement of the N/SVQ provided that the qualification was achieved no more than five years prior to ROLO application.

A skilled card will be issued under the Industry Accreditation route to:
Individuals, without N/SVQ’s can seek membership of ROLO by asking their present, past employer for whom they have worked, and able to judge their ability, to sign off their application form under the Employers section. (Industry Accreditation finishes end of March 2005). A Health & Safety Certificate issued within the last 2 years must also accompany the application.

A skilled card will be issued under the Modern Apprenticeship Scheme after Industry Accreditation finishes at the end of March 2005. Application under this scheme will need evidence of:

Satisfactory completion of a Modern Apprenticeship in a ROLO occupation.
Health & Safety Awareness Certificate issued within the last 2 years.

A trainee card
Open to applicants who have registered for NVQ/SVQ level but have not qualified. You will also need a current Health & Safety Certificate issued within the last 2 years.
